Yet there are those who yield to their weakness, and they will have troubles unending. I never gather with such ones, nor give them honor in any way.
Psalms 16:4 TPT
Because of you, I know the path of life, as I taste the fullness of joy in your presence. At your right side I experience divine pleasures forevermore!
Psalms 16:11 TPT
We all temporarily struggle with our weaknesses as we don’t have the resolve to stay the course perfectly as we intend. We fail and hopefully we fail less in the future. We have hope that we become stronger and able to resist the attacks on our character.
The person that “yields” to his weakness and chooses the path where his weakness controls his character has problems. The weakness becomes the focus - the idol - and God pulls away.
As we learn more about God and His ways, we learn of the heavenly realm where spiritual battles take place. We learn that those spiritual battles happen in our presence and involve each one of us every day. God’s ways are disclosed in small bites and as this battle is unveiled we learn why it is that our weaknesses are attacked and what it takes to overcome.
If we do not learn to overcome our weaknesses, we have consequences including “troubles unending.”
The reason we do not overcome is because we cannot accept the directives that God gives. His commands aren’t delivered as suggestions.
Do you know the path of life? Are you on the path that delivers divine pleasures? Pick up the roadmap (the Bible) and dive in. The secrets to this path are there for discovery. Weaknesses will fade away as a result.
Failure to make this sort of life changing directive allows the heavenly battles to be lost and God will pull away as weakness becomes the driving force for each day.
