Seeing the invisible God

What bliss you experience when your heart is pure! For then your eyes will open to see more and more of God.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Bible references God as invisible several times. At some point in our lives we come to realize that God is real and influences our lives. Even some of the strongest proclaimed atheists have come to this same conclusion.

There is a battle between our mind (which only believes what our eyes see) and our hearts that come to know a reality that is unseen. Our hearts tend to win this battle as God reveals Himself to us. It is a mystical, often unexplainable fact that we come to know regardless of how stubborn we are.

As we work through the reality of God we are drawn to see more of Him and understand what role He plays in our life. It is this part of life’s journey that is the most important, the most peaceful chapter of life. Often, this chapter plays out in someone’s final diagnosis. If we are fortunate, we get to pursue this part of our journey in the prime of life.

In order to understand God and to move closer to Him, our heart plays an important role. This scripture proclaims that a pure heart opens our eyes to see more of God.

The challenge of a pure heart is a daily struggle. It is often a struggle we experience hour by hour as the world’s ways distract us and drag our minds into the unpure. We all understand this as we all experience it.

Challenge your heart and seek pureness. The path to pure is found in the Bible. Start by reading some of the Psalms. There you will find a pure heart. And you will see more and more of God. Listen intently in a quiet spot as you read and you will see clearly.
