Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.
But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia.
Daniel 10:12-13
Angel communication is rare and seems limited mostly to Old Testament times. But don’t dismiss the impact of angels on your life. The Bible describes angels in depth and we can rest assured that angels do exist. The communication that Daniel had with the angel in this scripture is meaningful in that it sheds light on events that are identified in later scripture and thousands of years in the future but not completely understood even today.
Daniel’s angel appeared after many days of prayer by Daniel. The number of days is not known but the text suggests it is more than just a few days.
How many times do you make a request of God?
In Matthew 7 prayers should be made persistently. In my experience a one time prayer lived up to Heaven does not seem to get the attention that the same prayer day after day, week after week and month after month gets.
“For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.”
Matthew 7:8 TPT
Humbling oneself is vitally important when it comes to prayer. A broken heart and a desperate need is a place God works.
Daniel was desperate for God’s attention. We get this way too. Persistent, humble prayer said throughout every day can bring the power of the Lord alive as the Heavens hear your prayers and angels come to your rescue. This result is not limited to Daniel and Old Testament characters. This still happens every day for the persistent prayers that you offer.
